Design Lab 1 portfolio review

I remember this time last year very fondly.  Just getting comfortable with working in the dark room, processing film, making fine art prints...ok so maybe they weren't that fine yet.  But grand finale to my first semester in the photo department was definitely the portfolio review for Design Lab 1.  Today, all of the current first year students got to experience their very first portfolio review, and while running around finishing up projects of my own before the semester ends, I got to bear witness to some really amazing work from these students.  Here, in my photo of the day #115, a family member of a student admires a photograph on display.

Artist's Hang Up

Every December, the Randolph Arts Guild's gallery show is one entitled the Artist's Hang Up, where they invite all artists or all mediums and all levels of expertise to come and hang their pieces on the walls of their gallery.  The top picture is Ms Janice Mason, a long time patron of the Arts Guild.  The bottom picture is of my piece hanging in the show.

Badminton Queen

Today's photo of the day (#113) was not shot today, but was finally completed today.  This is the final product for my sports composite assignment in my digital imaging class. I shot my (lovely and amazing and totally willing and enthusiastic) model, Bailey Powell, with a single strobe in my basement, shot the background HDR style, and put it all together in Photoshop.

Sewing Fleece

Photojournalism photo of the day #100.  A group of 17 volunteers showed up to Santosha Yoga to help assemble fleece scarves for the Lakota people from an impoverished reservation in South Dakota, who are already experiencing severe weather and have very few resources, including limited fuel for heat!  In total 77 scarves were created over the course of the evening, and will soon be shipped out the Lakota people.
